The fault, the work, the parts and the person who did it. That is what a warranty position and a resale price are both built on, and it is exactly what is normally lost.

Repair is a role, not a cost center

The people who fix things are participants adding value, and value added in repair counts the same as value added in a sale. That is a deliberate position: a platform that only counts new units is a platform that quietly discourages fixing anything.

Parts have provenance too

A repair using unknown parts is a repair a buyer cannot assess. Recording what went in is what makes the record worth having.
