The introduction is the work

Finding the counterparty is usually harder than the transaction that follows. A platform that records only the transaction records the easy half and lets the valuable half go unattributed.

Attribution has to be recorded when it happens

Who introduced whom, and when. Reconstructed afterwards it becomes a disagreement between two people who both remember honestly and differently.

It is why residuals exist

Account ownership is recorded with an originator, so ongoing earnings on an account you opened are computed from a record rather than negotiated. That is what makes a residual enforceable instead of a promise.

It counts toward contribution

Introductions that lead to real commerce are events in the log and feed the contribution score, in whatever role made them.
