HOW THE
GRAJ SCORE WORKS.

Live now

Commerce runs on reputation that is not portable. A rep with fifteen years of relationships starts from zero at a new brand; a buyer who has paid on time for a decade proves it again at every supplier. The score is an attempt to make contribution portable, and its one design rule is that nobody can be given one.

It is derived, never assigned

The score is computed from the append-only event log — orders, introductions, work completed, disputes resolved, obligations met. No administrator can set it, which is the only reason it means anything. A number somebody can award is a number somebody can sell.

What contributes

Value added to the protocol, in whatever role added it. A shipper who delivers on time and a brand that ships on time are both contributing, and the score does not rank the roles against each other.

  • Orders written, filled and settled
  • Accounts opened and the reorders that followed
  • Work completed and confirmed by the other party
  • Disputes resolved rather than abandoned

Tiers, and what they actually do

Bronze, silver, gold and diamond are computed from the score and used to order payouts. They are a queue position, not a status symbol, and they move as contribution moves.

Why it is append-only underneath

A history that can be edited is a history that can be edited in somebody's favour. Events are added and never changed, so a score can be recomputed from scratch and must produce the same answer.
