Where operators can message each other, some of them will be scammed. The most common commerce fraud is not technical — it is a convincing message asking for payment to be redirected — and moderation that only looks for offensive language will not see it.
Payment redirection. A message that appears to come from a known counterparty, asking for funds to go somewhere new, usually with urgency attached. It succeeds because it arrives inside a relationship that is already real.
Payment details that live on a verified account rather than in a message cannot be changed by a message. Most of this category is prevented by where the data lives, not by reading the text.
Patterns rather than words: an account messaging many operators it has no relationship with, or the same text arriving from several accounts at once. Those are visible in the event log and are not visible in any single conversation.
Messaging exists and every message is an event in the append-only log. Automated review of those patterns is designed and not built, and this page does not describe a filter that is running.
