ADDING TO
THE FUND.

Being built

The Mission Fund is funded by a share of every protocol fee, automatically, without anyone being asked. Accepting outside contributions on top of that is possible and is not built — and the reason it is not is worth stating.

It funds itself first

A share of every fee accrues to the fund at settlement. That is the primary mechanism and it works without anybody choosing to be generous, which is the point: access should not depend on charity arriving.

It is a balance, not a pledge

The fund is derived from real settlements and checked against the double-entry ledger before every deployment. If the accrued total and the ledger disagree by a cent, the deploy fails rather than the discrepancy being noted.

Why taking donations needs care

Accepting money for a stated purpose creates obligations about how it is held, reported and spent, and those differ by jurisdiction. Building the intake before the disbursement programme exists would mean holding money with nothing to spend it on.

Status

Not built, deliberately in this order. The fund accrues and is verifiable today; the disbursement programme comes before the intake, because taking contributions for a programme that does not exist is the wrong sequence.
