A rep or a brand who is signed in gets the order writer right here. Everybody else can read how an order works on this protocol.
An order on this protocol is a record every party can read, not a message that leaves your outbox and disappears. The same row holds what was bought, at what terms, who is owed what, and every state change since it was written.
A brand, a rep, a buyer, a shipper and a funder all need a different view of the same order. Email gives each of them a partial copy that diverges the moment anything changes; a shared record gives them one truth and a history of how it got there.
Protocol fee, brand share, rep commission, any co-sell split and the Mission Fund contribution are computed at settlement and reconcile to the cent. Nobody has to reconstruct who was owed what from an invoice afterwards.
The order path computes tax from the seller's obligations, the destination and the buyer's exemption status. A tax figure the browser calculates is a figure the browser can edit, and the liability for getting it wrong belongs to the seller.
Whether an order is delivered is answered by what was actually recorded — receipts, settlements, events — rather than by somebody setting a flag. A status anybody can set is a status that will be set optimistically.
