What GRAJ does about each rule in United States, topic by topic. Open "Every topic, in detail" for each rule and its note. GRAJ computes, records and shows; it files nothing with any authority, and none of this is legal or tax advice.
Every state's rate, origin/destination sourcing, Hawaii GET; Streamlined states' general rate read live from their own rate files.
State rate only: every order outside the ten no-local-tax states is marked "local rates not included — this charge is a floor", and the tax position adds up the floor orders by state. A rooftop-rate provider is Matt's vendor decision.
Grocery food, prepared food, soft drinks, juice (the Streamlined >50% line), candy and alcohol by state, charged on the order from the state's own reading: every state's grocery answer, and soft drinks and candy in the eleven most populous — California, Texas, Florida, New York, Pennsylvania, Illinois, Ohio, North Carolina and Washington read on each state's own page (Ohio, North Carolina and Washington added 2026-10-22); Georgia and Michigan said as readings to confirm, never charged. A reading not confirmed falls to the general rate and says so; local grocery taxes are not computed (#103).
Economic nexus thresholds per state, origin and destination, with the walkthrough of when to register.
GRAJ's posture is "the seller is merchant of record and remits" (FACILITATOR_NOTE); whether a state's marketplace-facilitator law reaches GRAJ is for counsel.
HTS duty and the additional duties as a dated estimate, never the entry.
No low-value relief: USD 800 suspended for every country since 29 Aug 2025, ended in law 1 Jul 2027.
Importer of record, CBP importer number, bond for formal entry; the lane says who.
Commercial invoice, packing list, customs packet from the order; AES/EEI over USD 2,500 per line. DDP at checkout is a decision.
Per-seller gap-free invoice numbers in the order's currency, the tax always on its own line; no federal law sets what a sales-tax invoice shows, and the states' own words are added where read — Texas: the tax separately stated, and a seller outside Texas names it as Texas sales and use tax (34 Tex. Admin. Code § 3.286, read on law.cornell.edu), printed on a Texas delivery. Other states' wording is to confirm.
No federal law requires an e-invoice between businesses; a federal supplier invoices through the agency's platform (Treasury's IPP or its own, OMB M-15-19) — shown beside the e-invoice download, which produces a structured EN 16931 invoice on request. No state mandate is known (to confirm).
W-9 and W-8BEN filled and signed in GRAJ (last four digits only), the form chooser, 1099-NEC at the year's own threshold ($2,000 from 2026; $600 through 2025), the admin 1099 readiness, state returns beyond the federal 1099, and a year-end statement each payee downloads that says which return to expect. GRAJ is the filer for money paid out through GRAJ (Express accounts); Stripe's 1099 tool prepares the forms once turned on.
1099-K for money paid out through GRAJ is filed by GRAJ, the platform (Express accounts), with Stripe's 1099 tool; the rule (over $20,000 and 200 transactions) is quoted.
Two US tests as guidance tools, factor by factor, recorded on the agreement where both sides read them: the IRS common-law test for federal employment taxes — behavioral control, financial control, the type of relationship (irs.gov, reviewed 19 May 2026; Form SS-8 decides) — and California's ABC test (AB5). The Department of Labor's economic-reality test and other states' tests are named, not modeled. Recording an IRS check needs migration 2856.
The written-terms page holds every US freelancer law GRAJ has found: NY State and City (Freelance Isn't Free), Illinois (USD 500 over 120 days, 30 days, two years — read via ilga.gov and IDOL), Los Angeles (CORRECTED 2026-10-22 to USD 600 a calendar year from 1 July 2023 — the city's Office of Wage Standards), Seattle (CORRECTED to in force 1 September 2022; USD 600 a year, a pre-work notice — the Office of Labor Standards), Minneapolis (the city FAQ) and California statewide SB 988 (USD 250, from 1 Jan 2025 — from summaries, to confirm: leginfo refused the reader).
Said plainly on the overdue-invoice screen (Invoices → late-payment interest): no general US law gives a business statutory interest on a late B2B invoice. What does apply is listed with its source — the Prompt Payment Act for federal agencies only (4.75% for July–December 2026), state prompt-payment acts for construction and public contracts (named, to confirm), and the legal rate where nothing was agreed for New York (9%), California (10%), Texas (6% from day 30), Florida (the CFO's quarterly rate), Washington (12%) and Michigan (5%, 7% if agreed), with the seller's own state first and each state's ceiling (to confirm). The seller types the yearly rate their terms agreed and the screen works the interest out; GRAJ records and collects none of it.
The CPSA duty to report a hazard to the CPSC within 24 hours (s. 15(b)) as a product item on every consumer category — toys, children's, electrical, apparel, furniture, machinery, chemicals — beside CPSIA choking-hazard and Prop 65 warnings before purchase. Food, cosmetics, supplements and medical devices answer to FDA and are not asked it.
FDA food facility registration (biennial), the US food label, allergens, Prior Notice and FSVP on import, juice HACCP; cottage food and FSMA in the wizard.
Juice HACCP, bottle-bill deposits in ten states, juice and soft-drink taxability.
TTB permit, COLA, state license in the wizard; tied-house rules on pay-for-display are a decision.
MoCRA facility registration (2 yearly) and product listing (yearly) as product documents.
Food facility registration, the Supplement Facts label, and the structure/function claim notice (30 days) as product documents; cGMP (21 CFR 111) in the wizard.
Fiber content, maker or RN, and origin on the label (Textile Act); the care label as a check for wearing apparel.
Children's Product Certificate (yearly testing) and CPSC eFiling at import from 8 Jul 2026; choking-hazard warnings before purchase.
FCC equipment authorization as a product item on every electrical product (a check — it reaches radio-frequency devices): nothing may be marketed or imported before it is authorized (47 CFR 2.803(b)); a Supplier's Declaration of Conformity names a US responsible party (2.1077(a)), a transmitter carries its FCC ID; the CPSA 15(b) duty beside it, and the wizard.
Upholstered furniture to TB 117-2013 with the CPSC label (16 CFR 1640), clothing storage units to the STURDY standard (16 CFR 1261, made after 1 Sep 2023), mattresses (16 CFR 1632/1633, to confirm) and the 15(b) reporting duty as product items.
TSCA import certification (19 CFR 12.121), the FHSA hazardous household label (16 CFR 1500.121) and the 15(b) duty as product items; Prop 65 warnings for California ship-to; and the STATE CHEMICAL BANS as product checks (2026-10-22): Minnesota's PFAS prohibitions in eleven categories since 1 Jan 2025 (Minn. Stat. § 116.943), Maine's from 1 Jan 2026 (38 M.R.S. § 1614), Washington's Safer Products restrictions (WAC 173-337-110: carpets and treatments 2025, indoor furniture 2026, apparel and cleaning products 2027) — each read on the state's own site — and California's AB 1817 textiles rule, to confirm (leginfo answered 403).
FDA facility registration (animal food is food) and the animal food label as product documents; state feed registration is named, not modeled.
No federal pre-market approval, said so: the employer's guarding duty (29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1)) and electrical equipment at work "acceptable only if approved" — in practice an NRTL listing (1910.303(a), 1910.399) — as a check, and the CPSA 15(b) duty for consumer machinery, as product items (walk-behind mowers, 16 CFR 1205, to confirm).
FDA establishment registration and device listing (yearly, initial importers included) and the 510(k) clearance or exemption as product items; OTC drugs are not written; whether GRAJ allows such listings is a decision.
State tobacco/vapor license and FDA tobacco registration in the wizard; hemp/CBD, vape and cannabis positions are a decision.
Country-of-origin marking in English on imports (lane), and a "Made in USA" claim read from the product's words as a check against the FTC rule.
Business registrations by category, sanctions and export-control screening, embargoed regions, regulated listings; hemp, firearms and vape positions are a decision.
Five state packaging EPR laws and ten bottle bills: Maine — EPR for packaging (38 MRSA §2146); Oregon — Plastic Pollution and Recycling Modernization Act (SB 582); Colorado — Producer Responsibility Program for Statewide Recycling (HB22-1355); California — Plastic Pollution Prevention and Packaging Producer Responsibility Act (SB 54)… Who collects a deposit, and whether the 5% applies, is a decision.
On /privacy/where-you-live (linked from /privacy and every footer): no sale and no sharing for cross-context advertising, so a Global Privacy Control signal has nothing left to stop; "Your privacy choices" in the footer; the CCPA threshold (USD 26,625,000 from 1 Jan 2025, read on cppa.ca.gov) and the eighteen other state laws named with the rights and the appeal, given to everybody whether or not a law reaches GRAJ. On CROSS-BORDER a seller reads the same list to count its own customers against; data export and erasure for everybody. The other states' dates and thresholds are to confirm.
Pre-contract information above the button, kept on the order; for a US delivery the FTC Mail, Internet, or Telephone Order Merchandise Rule said there too — no shipping time is stated, so the seller ships within 30 days or tells the buyer first, with a revised date and the option to cancel for a prompt refund (16 CFR 435.2, read on law.cornell.edu); no consumer subscriptions exist, so automatic-renewal laws are not triggered.
USDOT/MC authority and insurance checked before a load is assigned; on LANES and LOAD TENDERS the law shown: FMCSA authority, USD 750,000 minimum insurance (49 CFR 387.9), the Hazardous Materials Regulations with training every three years (172.704) and PHMSA registration, IATA by air; hazmat lines refused on air unless allowed.
Bonded-warehouse papers and duty under bond, storage requests on the record; on STORER · CAPACITY the law shown: CBP bonded warehouse classes under the port director and the proprietor's bond (19 CFR part 19, five years), FDA registration for a warehouse holding food.
On CAMPAIGNS and CREATORS: the FTC Endorsement Guides (16 CFR 255 — disclose any material tie to the brand) and the fake-reviews rule (16 CFR 465, since 21 Oct 2024); the "Made in USA" standard read on a product's claim. Nothing reads a post against them; whether going live asks for the ad label is a decision.
United States — CAN-SPAM: May be sent unless they have withdrawn — with you named as the sender and an unsubscribe that works at once.
Every funding request names its law and its card on OPPORTUNITIES says which; KYC, accreditation and securities gates before an agreement; on OPPORTUNITIES and FINANCING the law shown: California SB 1235 (USD 500,000 or less, since 9 Dec 2022), New York's CFDL (USD 2.5 million, since 1 Aug 2023), state licensing and the other state laws (to confirm). The offer does not yet carry the provider's disclosure — a decision.
